LEARNING

As well as helping our students to gain admission to top universities, the academic life at Harrow International School Bengaluru encourages scholarship, intellectual curiosity, independent thought and effective learning habits. We offer a coherent and balanced curriculum that responds quickly to changing requirements, as well as a challenging and inspiring Super-Curriculum that widens and enriches our students' knowledge and understanding.

In the Middle School, which incorporates Grades 6 to 8, when students are aged between 11 and 14, the focus is on ensuring that our students develop the core academic skills and approaches which will allow them to flourish as they subsequently take on international examinations.

In the Senior School, covering Grade 9 to 12, our students work towards IGCSE examinations (which are largely completed in Grade 10) and then either A levels or the IB Diploma in Grades 11 and 12. In the Senior School, we aim to ensure that our students excel in their public examinations, so that they can access the best academic and career opportunities, whilst continuing to recognise the importance of developing the wider attributes which will allow them to stand out in their subsequent academic journey and careers.

Our Super-Curriculum aims to stretch and challenge our students through activities that support learning above the measurable outcomes of examination results. Often cross-curricular in nature, the Harrow Bengaluru Super-Curriculum is intended to develop in our students a deeper interest in their studies and an understanding of the connectedness between their subjects.

To ensure the effective delivery of these extended learning opportunities, we employ outstanding teaching staff with broad international experience. Harrow Bengaluru teachers are drawn from across the globe with experience in high-achieving environments and qualifications gained from world-leading universities.
