Welcome to Harrow International School, Bengaluru. We are at the start of an exciting journey, as we bring together 450 years of history, tradition and values from Harrow School in the UK, with the experience and excellence of Amity Education, an international education group rooted in the vibrancy and culture of India. Together these two global leaders are building a school where students will thrive in an environment where they will feel safe and supported and hence best able to throw themselves into learning, whilst building the character which will mark them out as leaders of the future.
The plans for our new school are exhilarating. The campus will benefit from wonderful facilities, with over 12,000m2 of academic buildings within the secondary school alone, providing spacious, well-equipped classrooms and science labs, as well as multiple breakout spaces to encourage collaboration and independent learning. Alongside this, our students will also enjoy wonderful co-curricular spaces: outstanding sports facilities, including an Olympic sized 50m swimming pool, a 4,500m2 sports hall, a full size astroturf football pitch and a 400m running track; a 1,800m2 auditorium for the performing arts; an extensive music wing with further performance halls and numerous practice rooms; further dedicated areas for fine art, sculpture, dance and drama.
However, it is not only the facilities but the atmosphere that we intend will mark out Harrow Bengaluru. An atmosphere in which the leaders of tomorrow will be molded through an emphasis upon creative thinking, participation, debate, service to others, responsibility, trust, community mindedness and teamwork, under the guidance of outstandingly qualified teachers from across the globe. We will be supported in achieving this by a recognition of the values of a Harrow education: Courage, Honour, Humility and Fellowship. These values will be enhanced by the strength of our school community, which will be built around a deep-seated house system and a large boarding community, in turn yielding a strong sense of belonging and confidence amongst all of our students.
Our location in Bengaluru, close to the international airport, allows us the space to create such a community. Our students will have both the geographical and temporal space to thrive in a schedule that will allow them to enjoy both an outstanding academic education and a broad holistic programme, incorporating daily opportunities to excel in sport, music, drama and the arts, as well as academia.
